This gaurds red 911 Cab is in for sympathetic restoration services. The vehicle was recently purchased and the new owner wants to tighten up aesthetics. The drivers door and passenger fender are a shade off from prior repairs. We will be correcting color variance, repairing the front end, installing a whale tale rear spoiler and last but not least, a full body paint correction.
6/11/24 - We have started performing repairs. During that time we unearthed a series of very poor prior repair. This will ultimately alter repair scope and time frame, but these issues need to be addressed. We discovered an immense amount of fiberglass and body filler within the fenders, leading us to strip to substrate. This is where things get interesting. The prior repairer drilled holes and cut a relief in the fender to “aid” in straightening the panel. This would have maybe been okay if they had filled and dressed their chop work. Fiberglass and filler was applied direct over metal which will lead to moisture and rust between the substrate and fillers. We will fill and dress all holes and the cut to the lower left fender, metal finish, apply an epoxy to then perform final plastic work. Stay tuned! This will be a fun repair!
Update! We have the body in its second round of epoxy. Currently the panels are being blocked in preparation for final finish! Here are some photos! Enjoy!
We also have performed modifications to the original engine lid to fit a whale tale spoiler.
We have made it back in the booth for final finish!
